Bvlgari launches BVLGARI Octo Finissimo two-hand limited edition watch with retro design
BVLGARI and Phillips, Bacs & Russo (Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo) work together to create a watch, interpreting a slightly different special edition of the BVLGARI OCTO Finissimo ultra-thin automatic watch, injecting a retro feel into its inherently avant-garde nature Beauty. This is also the first two-hand model of the OCTO Finissimo ultra-thin automatic watch. It lacks the small seconds dial originally located at seven o'clock, leaving the dial space for a geometric design surrounded by layers of orbital rings. Limited edition of 50 pieces.
This watch with a diameter of 40mm is made of OCTO OCTO Finissimo's classic sandblasted titanium. The biggest change in the dial design is the absence of the small seconds dial originally located at 7 o'clock. In addition, the Arabic numerals 6 and 12 are enlarged. Laser engraving is used to depict circles of scale rings on the dial, which look like rays of light and many closely connected fan shapes. The most special thing is that the color of the scale ring will change to black, gray, and bronze with the light.
The precise geometric design pays tribute to the Roman spirit of BVLGARI's roots and the great Italian architects and designers of the 20th century; the symmetrical "reflective" design around the central axis shows a three-dimensional sense of balance; the circle carvings on the octagon provide contrast. shape; the unique matte sandblasted titanium finish brings a sense of space; in addition, the design is sublimated in a minimalist form for the first time, proving the brand's meticulous attention to details with a simple style.
Aurel Bacs, senior consultant at Bacs & Russo, and Alexandre Ghotbi, head of watches for Continental Europe and the Middle East, said: “Octo Finissimo has become a true icon in just a few years and it is great to be able to design a piece like this for Phillips Watches. The creation was both a pleasure and an honor. We went back and forth with Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, suggesting different materials and dial finishes, but we quickly realized that the thin nature of the watch would impose certain limitations on the creation… …while creating a striking dial is not easy. Our aim with this sectoral dial design was to create symmetry that not only pays homage to BVLGARI's Italian roots, but also to the great Italian architects and designers of the 20th century A tribute. We ditched the small seconds dial, a first for this model, and wanted to focus on the engraved dial with large numerals and a scale ring whose color changes from black to gray to bronze depending on the light.”
This watch is equipped with BVL138 movement, which is only 2023mm thick; through the transparent bottom cover, you can appreciate the platinum automatic disc equipped with this movement. The words "LIMITED EDITION OF 50" are transferred to the transparent bottom cover, as well as the name of the partner Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo.
